Self Help Vocational Training
Renewal Under Growth will team up with local contractors to teach self-help vocational classes in handy-man independent sub-contracting and basic carpentry. The handy-man subcontracting will help independent contractors become insured and bonded and help them to partner with a licensed contractor to provide their service(s). Many urban areas have semi-skilled labors and independent contractors capable of providing needed services. Our aim is to position those independent contractors to operate as bonded or insured De Jure Sole-proprietors, LLC’s or Corporations.
We also will teach a self-help vocational training class on carpentry V.T. We will use curriculum offered through self help groups such as the NOCTI testing body to give the underserved candidate the basics. Our aim is to team up with local micro landlords, homeowners or small real-estate investors who have property in need of repair. We will raise funds to repair their property and subsequently obtain a commitment from the owners to offer the homes on a rent to own basis OR land contract to create urban homeowners. Our aim with this project is to create a socio-economic model that allows under-served residents to obtain handyman skills and assist the micro landlord or rehab investor to develop property that will give the renter an opportunity to become a homeowner.
